The leaves are turning…

The leaves are turning…

Greetings!

Here’s a few haunted happening’s around the castle as of late!

Rue Morgue Magazine’s 11th Anniversary Double Halloween issue hits stands on October 1st, 2008!!
The cover story this time is dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the highly influential classic horror magazine, Famous Monster’s of Filmland and interviews with Forrest J Ackerman (FM’s original editor in chief), Gene Simmons (yes, from Kiss), John Landis, Joe Dante and special FX wizard Rob Bottin!
I was fortunate enough to work with legendary Famous Monster cover artist Basil Gogos, and needless to say, I can die a happy man. This issue was a huge labour of love and everyone at Rue Morgue poured an extra quart of blood into this one, so grab a copy… if you can lift it!

Rue Morgue's 11th Anniversary Double Halloween issue 83.

Look out for the next issue of the heavy metal mag Revolver, hitting stands around Halloween. They too have put together an all horror issue in the spirit of Samhain. I was commissioned for a full page illustration of Dani Filth, from Cradle of Filth, for their “Going Postal” section and even helped consult on a few photos for the edition.

The Creepshow recently launched their new website, designed by those classy folks at Brain Lava. And grab a copy of their rippin’ new album, Run For Your Life, with photography by Ashlea Wessel and artwork by yours terribly.

Anchor Bay Entertainment will be releasing a new volume of nine full-length episodes from The Hilarious House of Frightenstein. The first set “Gory, Gory Transylvania!” will be released November 11, 2008. I was asked to contribute some new drawings for a “colour your own dvd art” featured on the packaging for the set. Speaking of Frighten-stuff, I have made limited edition 11 x 14 prints of my Billy Van tribute piece. I will have them up in my store in the near future but until then, please contact me if you want to purchase one!

Other sordid stuff in on the way:

A gig poster for Jet Set Satellite‘s annual Halloween Haunt show in Calgary.

New Creepshow shirts.

I’ll be appearing at the Eerie Horror Fest with Rue Morgue’s Rodrigo Gudiño, Dave Alexander and Rue Morgue Radio’s Stuart Andrews, October 9 – 12, 2008.

And last but not least, I’ve begun working on my first solo art show! Details very soon!!

Thanks for reading and remember, keep the lights on.

Ghoulishly,

Gary
